How to Pray |The Lord's Prayer: A Children's Poem
Friends
of Jesus
Asked
one day,
“Lord,
please teach us
How to
pray.”
And
Jesus said,
“This is
the way…
Daddy
God,
You’re
up so high
Higher
than mountains
Or clouds
in the sky.
Please
come make
The sad
things good,
And give
us all
Some
yummy food.
Help us
know
Your
love is big,
Bigger than
Any bad
Things
we did.
Help us
love
Like you
do—
Family, friends,
And enemies,
too.
Keep us all
from
Doing wrong,
And save
us from
The evil
one.
For You
are King,
And You
are strong,
And You
give life,
Forever-long.
Amen."
From Matthew 6:9-13, KJV
9 After this manner therefore pray ye:
Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.
10 Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.
11 Give us this day our daily bread.
12 And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.
13 And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.

Chrysalis
Babe in the cradle
Wrapped in rainbows
Saved from death
More than once
Chosen, beloved
Wrapped in rainbows
Full of promise
Baptized in hope
Broken, beaten
Wrapped in rainbows
Shame unspoken
Fears dug deep
Wild in freedom
Wrapped in rainbows
Light in darkness
Leads her home
New creation
Wrapped in rainbows
Newfound family
Newfound love
Sparks and Roses
Wrapped in rainbows
Wooed and Pursued
Two made one
Two hearts broken
Wrapped in rainbows
Shared the shroud
Beloved son
Battles, truces
Wrapped in rainbows
Digging caverns
Until they're done
Trees uprooted
Wrapped in Rainbows
New trees planted
Trees of life
Creeping darkness
Wrapped in rainbows
World in waiting
Lord, how long?
